UPDATE ON SHOOTING--Cape Breton Regional Police are looking for three suspects after the victim of a shooting arrived at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital at approximately 7:30 AM with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police responded and spoke with the 30-year-old male, and were able to confirm that the incident occurred within the 100-200 block of Alexandra Streey in Sydney early this morning. Information was received that three males wearing masks forced their way into a residence, shot the victim, and then left the area in a vehicle, described as a Toyota Camry.
Police have since located the suspect vehicle in the Woodbine Road area of Marion Bridge, where they continue to search for the suspects who are believed to have fled the vehicle on foot. Police are asking the public to avoid the area of Woodbine Road.
The Major Crime and Forensic Identification Units are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cape Breton Regional Police Service 902-563-5151 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1800-222-8477.
