Honouring artists titled People´s Artist and Meritorious Artist

USPA NEWS - The eighth honouring ceremony for 102 artists as People´s Artist title and 377 artists as Meritorious Artist title was organized on January 10. It was the first honouring period according to Regulation 89 by the Prime Minsiter on September 29, 2014.
President Truong Tan Sang presented the People´s Artist titles to 102 artists at a ceremony held at the Hanoi Opera House on January 10 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST).

Addressing the event, President Sang stressed that the titles were awarded as recognition of the Party and State for the revolutionary artists for their patriotism and dedication to their work, as well as their talent and contributions to the development of the country´s revolutionary arts.

He praised the awardees as positive soldiers in the cultural and ideological front who have significantly contributed to victory in the country´s struggles for independence, freedom and national construction and defence.
The event aims to encourgae Vietnamese artists to continue nurturing their talent and developing their morals in order to promote the proud traditions of the country, produce more artworks of high quality, and develop the Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity.

Honouring some titles is a thank by some contributions of the writers and artists in terms of culture and arts.The artists come from seven ethnic groups ““ Kinh, Thai, E De, Tay, Nung, Khmer, and Co Tu ““ and are in different age groups working in various fields of the cultural sector.
